Country Traditions Quilt Shop

Country Traditions is a fantastic quilt shop located in the Historical Downtown District in Fremont, NE. Owners Leslie and Kevin Main opened the spacious quilt shop in 1998. Leslie (pictured below to the right), who was looking for a career change after teaching middle school for 10 years, followed her instincts and opened an amazing store which has just about everything a quilter needs.

Country Traditions has now grown from a small start-up to a larger store that welcomes visitors from all across the country. The quilt shop’s expansive and inviting space has paid off well for them, as Country Traditions was selected as one of the top 10 quilt shops in the spring 2005 issue of Quilt Sampler. Further, in 2007 they were selected as one of the Best of the Best by Better Homes and Gardens American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.

An AccuQuilt Signature Dealer since 2009, their products include everything from rulers, books, and patterns to a large supply of high quality fabric totaling over 8,000 bolts. Country Traditions also carries Pfaff sewing machines and the full line of Handi Quilter Long Arm Machines.

You can also find a great selection of AccuQuilt fabric cutters and fabric cutting dies at Country Traditions. Leslie has even designed her own die, the widely popular and extremely versatile GO! Log Cabin die-12” Finished Square. This is a Block-on-Board (BOB) die, which not only gives you all the shapes you need on one die, but it is a die that significantly increases your creative options.

Country Traditions offers a full lineup of classes from Quilting 101 to Advance Quilting, monthly sampler classes throughout the year, and many more. Additionally, if quilters are looking for a special technique type of class, Country Traditions will try to find a class to fit their needs. You will also receive a lifetime of owners classes if buying your sewing machine there.

Most of the classes are taught by staff, but they also offer classes from national educators including Lisa Calle, Edyta Sitar, Sue Patten, Diane Gloystein, Ellen Osten, and others.

There are 12 employees working at Country Traditions and all are avid quilters who have made the quilt samples adorning the walls in the store. Additionally, they have a certified Pfaff and Handi Quilter technician on staff.

If you’re planning a Midwestern quilt shop run, Country Traditions should be high on your list.
