March 17 is almost here, and with it comes the celebration of St. Patrick and Irish culture that has been happened annually for hundreds of years. Here are some bright, fun patterns to help you brighten up your home to celebrate in style!

Set a Festive Table!

Bust up your stash of green fabrics and dress up your table with the GO! Lucky Shamrocks Table Topper (PQ11714). This quick and easy project will spruce up your table and have it ready for your corned beef and cabbage in no time!

Pillow Talk

Here’s a trio of festive pillows to pick from, starting with GO! Emerald Sea Pillow (PQ11661). This celebration of green is made with the GO! Storm at Sea (55221) Block on Board (BOB) die, and will enhance your décor all spring.

For a quick, one day project, whip up the GO! Qube 8” Prairie Queen Pillow (PQ11477). This pillow has a bold, modern feel that will easily transition into summer and beyond. This project finished at 14” X 14”, so you may need more than one!PQ11477-8in-prairie-queen-pillow-flat-1500x1500

Last but not least in our trio is the GO! Ohio March Pillow (LM-0003). This springy pattern was designed by Lee Chappell Monroe as part of her pillow pattern series. This project uses the GO! Ohio Star-12” Finished (55174) Block on Board (BOB) die to make it another easy, one day pillow.

Check out this cute embroidery design called GO! Shamrock Cute Car (VQ-SCC) by V-Stitch Designs? What a fun way to use the GO! Cute Car (55354) for fun projects like tea towels, table runners and more!

Customize It!

Don’t forget that you can audition different fabrics and colors using AccuQuilt’s free pattern customizer tool, GO! Quilt. There are over 1,700 free patterns to choose from, including all those shown in this blog. Fair warning, it’s so much fun you may end up with even more projects than you planned on!

Your Lucky Quilt

Looking for a little luck? The GO! Holding Horseshoes Quilt (PQ11693) uses the horseshoe shape from the GO! Western Medley (55227). This great die started as a limited edition die in 2020, but it’s back by popular demand as a regular member of the AccuQuilt team! The shamrocks are created using either GO! Hearts (55029) or our discontinued GO! Emojis (55191). This quilt is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any time you feel like you could use a little extra luck!

Corned Beef and Cabbage for the Win!

In non-quarantine times, the AccuQuilt crew loves to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day alongside our TEK Brands partners from AccuCut, Custom Shape Pros and Memory Stitch with a huge potluck lunch. Although we’re missing this tradition for the second year in a row, we hope to be “wearin’ the green” together again next year. Warehouse Manager Karen Crotty has long been our GO!-to chef for cooking delicious corned beef with all the trimmings for our hungry team, so I asked her to share her culinary secrets to success.

To cook for our hungry team, Karen starts with three 15 gallon electric roasters! Her tips include not stacking the slabs of corned beef, resisting the urge to open the roasters to “check” your progress, cooking the potatoes, carrots and cabbage in the same water as the corned beef for total flavor infusion and not under cooking the corned beef. Even those who claim not to care for this seasonal specialty have been known to return for second helpings, so I asked what her secret really is. Her answer? “It’s all about the love!”

I guess that says it all, doesn’t it? Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!
