We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s 2017 Quilt Block Design Contest!
Our grand prize winner is Reed Johnson of Largo, FL. As part of his prize package, Reed's incredible design, Purple Rose, will be displayed on a 17-foot sign outside of AccuQuilt Headquarters for an entire year. We are looking forward to seeing his design greeting us daily as we head into our offices.
Reed's prize package also includes a $1,000 AccuQuilt shopping spree, two round trip tickets to Omaha, hotel accommodations for two nights, and an array of fabric and thread to keep him busy creating.
Terri Vanden Bosch of Doon, Iowa is the runner-up and she designed Shell Canyon Road. Vanden Bosch’s prize package includes a $500 AccuQuilt shopping spree and fabric bundles from Northcott and Marcus Brothers, and much more.
Lovenia Casto, who designed the creative Bright Star, is the fan’s choice winner. Lovenia will receive a $250 AccuQuilt shopping spree, fabric bundles from RJR Fabrics, Cloud 9, and a 2-pass class from Craftsy.
Our grand prize winner also joins seven other quilters who received honorable mentions for their designs. Those honorable mentions include Marybeth Pusillo, Judy Best, Belinda Karls-Nace, Candace Door, Sherry Rose, Heather Hansen and Beverly Tiemann.
Grand prize winner Reed Johnson will be publicly acknowledged at the AccuQuilt Unveiling Event on September 29. He and hundreds of others will watch on as his quilt block design is unveiled on the huge, 17-foot billboard.
