The Cleopatra's Fan block looks like it would be difficult to make, but when you use the AccuQuilt GO! Cleopatra's Fan die, it is very easy to create. Each piece on the die has little notches that help you match up the pieces, and the pattern that comes with the die walks you through each step.

Fabric:
- Raspberry - ½ yard
- Multi print 1 yard (includes border and binding)
- Cream - ⅔ yard
- Backing 1 yard
Cutting Directions for blocks:
- Raspberry - cut a strip of fabric 16½" x WOF - sub cut eight 16½" x 3½" pieces (J,H,D and B).
- Print - cut a strip of fabric 16¼" x WOF (width of fabric) - sub cut eight 16¼" x 4" pieces (I, E and G).
- Cream - cut a strip of fabric 21¼" x WOF fabric -sub cut eight 21¼" x 3½" pieces (A,C and F).
Place 2 layers of each color of your fabric on the Cleopatra's Fan die with wrong sides together. you'll want to put the fabrics with wrong sides together 4 times for a total of 8 layers of fabric.
Sew with a ¼" seam allowance and press your seams to the darker fabric if possible.
Step 1: There are directions that come with the Cleopatra's Fan die and it numbers each of the pieces on the die. You could use little self-stick notepads and write the letter for each piece to help you keep track of the pieces.
Step 2: Sew piece A to piece B. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 3: Sew piece C to piece D. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 4: Sew your C/D piece from step 3 to piece E. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 5: Sew piece F to piece G. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 6: Sew your F/G piece from step 5 to piece H. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 7: Sew your F/G/H piece from step 6 to piece I. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 8: Sew your F/G/H/I piece from step 7 to piece J. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 9: Sew your A/B piece from step 2 to C/D/E from step 4. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 10: Sew piece A/B/C/D/E from step 9 to piece F/G/H/I/J from step 8. You will make 2 of these for each block. Notice they go in reverse directions. Make 4 sets.
Step 11: Sew both sides of the block together. Your block should measure 12½" x 12½".
Repeat all of the steps for your other 3 blocks.
Sew the blocks together.
Your piece should measure 24½" x 24½".
Sew a 5½" x 24½" border to the top and bottom.
Add batting and backing, quilt as desired and bind.
