Red, White & Blue: 5 Patriotic Quilt Patterns

Jun 26, 2020 8:28:39 AM / by Erica Bottger

We all have "go-to" things, don’t we? Favorite foods, movies, books, colors and more. As quilters, we have favorites, too. Now, this may feel a little asking you to name your favorite child, but do you have favorites in your quilting life? I have to admit that I love my seasonal quilting projects the most, and that includes my patriotic quilts.

As soon as Memorial Days rolls around, I start bringing out my out my patriotic quilts, pillows and wall hangings. I feel like having them out for just one month in July is not enough!

AccuQuilt has some fantastic red, white and blue projects available for you as free downloads if you are looking for some inspiration! You can also go to our website and filter your pattern search for patriotic projects to find more.

GO! Colonial Stars Quilt (#10179)

This is a great project for combining your piecing with appliqué, using our great GO! Star 2”, 3”, 4” die (55028) – and don’t forget that we have free downloadable machine embroidery to go with this die! You could also make the little flag that is at the center of the pieced star blocks for a festive coaster or mug rug. Getting perfect cuts with your dies makes working with small shapes a snap.

GO! From Sea to Shining Sea Throw Quilt Pattern (PQ11630)

Speaking of favorites, this quilt has been a favorite pattern of so many quilters since it was released. This amazing quilt is made using just one die, our GO! Storm at Sea 12” Finished (55221). When you use a BOB (Block on Board) die like this, all the shapes on one die board. How easy is that?
