Before our events went virtual, Pam visited Sew Jersey in East Hanover, New Jersey for a two-day event. While meeting with customers and leading classes, she was able to catch up with the store owner, Jackie, to learn a little about the shop. Read on to see what she learned and for some advice on how to restock your sewing room while staying healthy and safe!
How Sew Jersey Started
Before opening the shop, Jackie worked in the corporate world with long hours and hard days. At that time, her dream was to start a family and knew she would never be able to raise a child and keep the job. Jackie's mother and grandmother were both quilters and she had always had an interest in quilting, so with their help and inspiration, she opened Sew Jersey - and has never looked back. She loves her job and that it allows her to spend more time with her sweet family!
All About Sew Jersey
Sew Jersey has a large store of everything sewists need, including sewing machines, fabric, notions and, of course, AccuQuilt! Jackie said that she loves how easy it is to use AccuQuilt and that their customers rave about how fast and easy the GO! system makes cutting fabric for quilting.

Jackie and her team at Sew Jersey have a following of dedicated customers. In fact, many of the attendees drove over an hour to make it to the two-day AccuQuilt event. This isn't uncommon. Jackie mentioned having a customer sews textiles for a living and lives in Manhattan. This customer, like many residents of New York City, doesn't own a car, so she rents a car every couple of months to travel to the shop. She has her machines serviced and gets sewing supplies then drives back to the city. Talk about dedication to a store!
