Hi I'm Bea from BeaquilterI'm back again to show how to make a fun Valentine's gift bag that's easy peasy, especially using the GO! Qube Mix & Match 8" Block.

It measures 8" x 12", and you'll need the following:

  • 4 FQs (2 red and 2 white prints)
  • 12" of elastic 1/4" wide
  • GO! Qube Mix & Match 8" Block

Cut out 8 diamond shapes (#7) of each of the red fabrics (4 in reverse, so just fold the fabric on there and double up on the die)

Then cut out 16 small triangles (#5) of each white

and 4 rectangles (#8) each of the reds

Sew 4 sets of each like this.

Then sew into 8" block and add rectangles to top, with the rest of the red FQs cut out two 8 1/2" x 12 1/2" rectangles for lining.

Sew bottom of bags together then lining pieces to tops of bags like this.

Cut out 2 pieces of elastic to 6" each. Sew to top part of bag sides a little above the seam between the main part and rectangles on bag. Do this on both sides with a zig zag stitch. I used a dashed zig zag stitch, which is a pretty common stitch.

Then fold bag in half and sew around leaving an opening at the bottom of the lining.

Turn bag inside out, sew opening closed and push lining inside bag. You may want to top stitch a line by the top edge.

And Voila! gift bag is done and can fit plenty of goodies inside!
